Artwork: Birdfeeder

This sumptuous piece by Sarana is a melting-pot of colour and movement. The way the strands of hair and elements of the dress move into, and across, each other, is dizzying and infinitely pleasing. The viewers eyes move from wing to ribbon, dress to abstract flower, taking a delightful journey in and out of positive and negative spaces. The image melts in a very satisfying way like the inside of a Cadbury's 'Snack' chocolate block. The viewer is left feeling oddly satisfied and nostalgic all at once.

Artwork: Division of Opinions

The beautiful simplicity of this image, at first glance, quickly becomes a hungry quest for details, as the viewer becomes entangled in the story of this piece. The twins are conjoined surely, or twining together like the vines of a climbing rose. The faces turned away from one another creates a beautiful tension, as if the viewer can feel unspoken words between the two sisters (or maybe lovers). The hand of one seems tender, while the other ones head turns further away. This piece is delightful and puzzling in equal measure. Elegant, subtle and alluring in its pastel perfection.

Artist: Solyaev

X Profile: @solyaev

Artwork: Wh

Solyaev's artwork is an oasis of calm, reflective beauty. The figure appears to have a barely distinguishable mouth and no eyelashes, perhaps to desexualise the image, which is refreshing. The colour palette of yellow, red, blue, green and cream enhance the innocent aspects of the piece, like the colours of children's clothing. It is a gentle and subtle piece with a elegant stillness reminiscent of fashion illustrations from the 1920s.

Artwork: Florescent Core

This image speaks to the viewer of contemplation and mystery. The figure with the flower over his mouth looks downwards, eyes downcast, muted by the orange beauty pressing against his lips. It is at once a gorgeous image and ambiguous. The title 'Florescent Core' conjures up the idea of something hidden within. The viewer is left to wonder and enjoy this beautifully enigmatic piece by Shay the Surrealist. It is reminiscent of the photography of another fabulous Surrealist, Man Ray, and his experimentation using multiple exposures.

Artwork: Coveting Patterns

This stunning piece by Lily is a feast of pattern as the name 'Converting Patterns' suggests. The billowing dress seems to have created its own landscape of rolling hills and valleys. The wallpapers, and the curtains, add a luscious Victorian era feel to the piece. The haughty pose of the figure gives the viewer the sense that they are interrupting her in a moment of private reverie, perhaps she awaits her moustachioed sweetheart, so they can exchange locks of their hair?  It is a quirky, and pleasingly disjointed, flight of fancy.

Artist: Vvika

X Profile: @Vvikaelff

Artwork: Megy

Vvika has created an artwork that is both minimal and decorative. The use of the black background lends the piece a classical feel, as if the image should be adorning a jet black vase in an Emperors Palace. the stylised cream elements in the background enhance this feeling.  The intricate gold dandelions contribute an organic element to the piece and the sumptuous red/orange clothing delight  the viewer with their vibrancy.  The adorably sweet face, that peers back from the image, lends the piece even more of a classical feel. This artwork is so pleasingly romantic and restrained.

Artist: Claire Silver

Artwork: Suadade

Not only has Claire created an amazingly beautiful artwork, in this piece,  but she has named it perfectly. Suadade means the melancholy or nostalgic longing for a loved one, which is exactly how the viewer feels looking at the two beautiful girls communing as if their souls were becoming one. Flowers bridge the slight space between the figures, lusciously stroking their alabaster skin.  Is one of the girls removing needles of large stamen from the others throat? Or maybe she's gently pushing them in? The wondering brings a lovely tension to the piece which is what makes a powerful image. To understand an image is nice, to not understand an image is exciting and therefore captivating. This piece has enough unanswered elements to make the viewer look once, twice, many times and it is why Claire's work holds something special within.

Artist: Kristina Makeeva

Artwork: Iranian Pain #1

This stunning piece, by Kristina, speaks very powerfully of the situation for women unfolding currently in Iran. The use of the Islamic style tile overlaying the image of a woman's face holds meaning symbolically. In Muslim culture decorative tiles became a tradition because it was believed to be disrespectful to replicate Gods creations in art. In this piece the juxtaposition between the Orthodox views and that of modern Iranian women speaks directly to the source of the unrest. The pattern is dominating the female figure in the same way that the traditional religious beliefs stifle the women of Iran from living free and peaceful lives.

Artist: Geko

Artwork: Yakuza Geisha

The cherry red lips and the flowers in this piece draw the viewer straight into this artwork and emphasise the subtle eroticism in this piece. The echoing of the flower pattern in the figures tattoos and the highlighting of the cheeks with the same pink makes the image seem to glow against the muted blue background. The young woman is both submissive and defiant with her downcast eyes and proudly nude breasts. Amir's work is reminiscent of the artist Luis Gonzalez Palma with the smouldering lusciousness of the figure and her stoic presence in the image.
