Artist: Rodine Lee

X Profile: @Rodrine_Lee

Artwork: Untitled

Rodine's artwork is gritty and cool in a way that reminds the viewer of street artists such as Fin DAC and Tristan Eaton.  The female figure is exotic and beautiful, her tattoos and casual cigarette give her plenty  of hipster appeal. Her serpentine eyes and kabuki mask convey a theatrical narrative making the piece both compelling and glamorous. The muted tones add to the contemporary feel, giving an overall impression that this young woman is too cool for school.

Artwork: Looking for My Heart in the Wrong Places

This stunning piece draws the viewer in with the beautifully evocative expression on the subjects face. Her iconic pout, which is a trademark feature in all of Marleen's creations, gives the sad young woman a sensual quality. Her lipstick smudged and the makeup running down her cheeks provoke sympathy in the audience. The lovely use of colour is also notable, an unusual combination of red, gold and  blue, which gives the work muted vibrancy. The skull sits centre stage, as a reminder of our mortality even in the face of such youthful beauty.

Artist: Leah Ibrahim Sams

Artwork: Persephone

The beauty of this artwork is mesmerizing with the gorgeous red colour palette, the tragic expression of the subject, the simple yet striking composition. This is a powerfully crafted image and one that shows such skilful restraint. The viewer is reminded of the stunning pieces by Aubrey Beardsley, the way the head tilts so defiantly in contrast to the pout and the tears. The beautifully restrained decorative elements are also reminiscent of Beardsley's work. Leah has created a striking, emotive, piece with such confidence, it is truly delightful.

Artist: Gii

X Profile: @flostitanarum

Artwork: Wijayakusuma

This piece by Gii is eye candy with its vibrant colours and maximalist design. The composition is both bold and highly structured, revolving around the central flower element. There are so many cool details to discover reminding the viewer of a search and find book. This piece has a fun, playful aspect to it, especially with the quirky border and the cosmic feel to it. It is a joyful creation that brings a smile to the viewers face with its uniqueness.

Artist: Sarah

X Profile: @HoshiPeachArt

Artwork: Hipponoe

How adorable is this little cutie? With her huge eyes and those kissable lips, Hipponoe is utterly gorgeous. The horns and the trident give her a devilish demeanor and the t-shirt  'nine inch whales' is so playful and fun. She is one of Sarah's collection of Nereids (sea-nymphs)  and she is a total babe. The collection is stunning with its diverse characters and quirky themes. Each Nereid is delightfully individual with so much character and personality thanks to Sarah's skillful storytelling.

Artist: Magda Americangangsta

X Profile: @MagdaGangsta

Artwork: Labour of Love

Magda has amazing versatility with her artworks, they exude creative flair and this piece is no exception.  It has a beautiful textural feel to it, which is reminiscent of a handmade silk scarf. The abstract composition has subtle movement, this make the piece exciting to view. The colours and movement conjure up images of Papua New Guinean ceremonial headdresses, sacred and powerful artifacts handed down for generations. This work, too, has an heirloom quality, if you are lucky enough to collect one of Magda's pieces you'll want to keep it for your grandchildren.

Artist: Rik Lee

X Profile: @rikleedraws

Artwork: Seasons

There is something majestic about this piece and its mirror image perfection. The two young women face each other and weep, perhaps at their own beauty or the wonder of the spectacular environment they inhabit. The intoxicating use of colour, which is so skillfully achieved in Rik's creations, gives the piece flamboyant energy. The halo in the background is echoed in the curve of the subjects jaws. It's these sorts of clever details which makes Rik's work so effortlessly appealing and so highly sort after.

Artist: Marina Ahmadova

Artwork: The Ubiquitous Elegant Junk

This lovely image has a whimsical feel to it, with the pale blue eyed figure and the strange assortment of artifacts. It is like Alice in Wonderland down the rabbit hole, especially with the dark void like background. The figure seems unperturbed by the avalanche of objects swallowing them whole. Perhaps Mariana has children and knows what it feels like to disappear under an endless tide of housework. The charm of this image, and the whimsy, gives a gentle humour to the piece.

Artist: Eva

X Profile: @ceurelie

Artwork: Whisperer

The big blue eyes stare back at the viewer from this piece with such wide eyed wonder in them. The young girl nestles into a larger figure, perhaps a mother or an older sister. The deconstructed figures encased in an abstract flurry of paint strokes and soft smoke. This piece has a similar mood to it as Robert de la Fresnaye's cubist paintings, which create a cohesive narrative despite the abstraction of the figures. This is a lovely creation by Eva and one that keeps the viewer coming back for more.
